Maysen & Borowski sponsored dinner with the Zambian Delegation attending CHOGM
On Sunday 31st October, Maysen & Borowski had the honour of hosting an event attended by the Vice President of Zambia, His Honour, Dr. Guy Scott and the entire Zambian delegation in Perth for CHOGM. Maysen & Borowski, in addition to representatives from a number of prominent Perth companies and Zambians living in Perth, gathered to welcome the new Government into power. The event created an opportunity for potential investors to learn more about Zambia and the opportunities present.
The newly elected Government used the Maysen & Borowski sponsored dinner as an opportunity to reiterate their election policies of reducing poverty through the creation of youth employment and encouraging increased Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).The new government policy will create win-win opportunities for both the investors and the country.
Zambian Minister for Trade Commerce & Industry, Honourable Robert Sichinga, spoke of his aim to continue increasing FDI in the mining, agriculture, tourism, energy and infrastructure sectors through Zambia’s generous investment incentive schemes and also through the multi-facility economic zones to entice and ensure investors benefit.
Vice President, His Honour, Dr. Guy Scott, Minister of Commerce, Trade & Industry, Honourable Robert Sichinga, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Chishimba Kambwili and the Minister for Sport, Youth, Child Development, Honourable Fackson Shamenda all provided different perspectives on the government’s policy to encourage new FDI. Honourable Chishimba Kambwili, encouraged Zambians living in Perth to consider purchasing property back in their home country.
Honourable Robert Sichinga highlighted the significance of Australian companies investing in hydroelectric schemes and other large projects. All speakers were keen to reinforce the importance of creating a win-win situation for investors and Zambia. Furthermore, the Minister emphasised how the Government policies ensure direct benefits to Zambians from FDI through areas such as increased employment opportunities and social development.
